Jeremy was not unhappy with the people he lived with. His father, for example, was a kind and hardworking man, and had never been mean or cruel to his family. Jeremy's father chose to be the provider for his family, not from tradition, but because work was one of his passions, right along with taking an evening nap in his favourite chair.
