  1. Did the presidents have their capitol designed to look like the 1700s to emulate the U.S. founding fathers?

  2. The shocked guard in the bottom left corner wins the strip for me.

Also, Koen should totally argue with Julie while she’s “negotiating” in future engagements. There’s value in being crazier than the crazy leaders she is dealing with.

  3. @Herandar: In the immortal words of Groucho Marx, “Never be afraid to let them think you’re crazy. It’s hard to get a refund when the salesman is sniffing at your crotch and baying at the moon.”

  4. @ coyoty- i was thinking they based it on greek/roman architecture, but if you identify it with your country that’s fine too 🙂

  5. @Donahue – Well, DC was inspired by Greek and Roman architecture.. I imagine that living in a smaller country, surrounded by so many different cultures from so many other countries, all just a short rail, ferry or even car ride away, being constantly reminded that “you’re not the only country around” comes with the territory.. I actually think it would be kind of cool!

Here in America it’s a completely different story; the same distance which would take you to a completely different country and culture MIGHT get you from Los Angeles, California to Boise, Idaho. Different states and cultures, but still very much US of A.

It can be very easy, for those who don’t constantly remind themselves “NO, you are not the only culture on this planet”, to think this is the be all, end all to everything.

    Anyway..

  6. Ya no big deal, greek and roman architecture is everywhere, i know DC is based on it, i was just mention what inspired me. What the audience sees well that is great too

  7. @Coyote-

I’m sorry if I came off as a little pompous, it happens to everyone who spends too much time on debate forums. :p

  8. I’m sitting here thinking, “Pompous? What’s he talking about?”

  9. @0Z79: You’d come off better if you didn’t autocorrect everyone’s name to start your replies. 😉 (I wonder what ‘Herandar’ will turn into.)

  10. @Herandar: You can thank Coyote of Gunnerkrigg Court for me still not being able to get that right!

Coyoty – That user. Coyote – above character, also the noisy things I’ve occasionally had to live alongside..

    Caffeine is a good thing..

  11. Incremental growth, Julie–keep moving ahead.

  12. Plan A is reasoned discourse. If Plan A fails, there is always Plan B “melt your enemy. Just remember, if you are leaving scorch marks you need a bigger weapon.
