Before you all ask: the cloak pictures have not been processed/finished/etc. You’ll see more of it, but no new pictures right now.

Looking forward to seeing my sister and “Lemony,” and having a little birthday celebration (for me) with them. But today the drive to Mt Shasta got delayed for a day due to snow. Yup, winter has finally arrived in the Sierra Nevada Mountains for sure!

I think I remember you saying you two were going up to Canada to work? If so, please consult a tax specialist familiar with Canada/US expat tax cases before you go. Canadian taxes alone can be complicated, and Canadian and US taxes combined are a headache. Many Americans (I was almost one) can get caught up in penalties and fees and such with dual taxation issues. You will pay Canada and the US at the same time and when it comes to taxes, the two countries do not like each other, like two bullies trying to shake down the same kid for their lunch momney. This info is older but gives you a look at how it can be:

As to what the rules are now, who knows? All I know is that you, as the taxpayer, will be wrong even if you are right. šŸ˜‰ So PLEASE consult a specialist. Wouldn’t want you and the pretty lady to end up in gaol for tax evasion.

Good. It really is a pain in the keister, dealing with expat tax issues; and I was working a US government contract, no less, at request of the Canadian government.

I don’t mind paying taxes, I just despise dealing with the rigmarole.
