    fwiw, Google Translate has a “live translate” feature that’s pretty good. You indicate two languages, then set the phone down face-up between you and you both speak. It live-translates whatever it hears in one language into the other language. There’s a bit of a pause so conversations have to go at a measured pace (you talk, pause, they talk, pause, etc…). It might help.

    1. Ha! I know. Except I’m not of the % of people where my phone will only do voice-to-text (including with the apple and Google translating apps) for a few seconds and then turn off. VERY frustrated, but also glad it’s making me push forward HARD to understand what”s going on.
