I imagine you gave thought to the pros and cons of bringing a water bottle with you.
I (67) have been diagnosed as “frequently dehydrated”, which is not good for anyone, but a bigger problem at my age.
I started with fancy insulated water bottles, often made of metal. I now think that is unnecessary. I now use lightweight plastic bottles and drink my water at room temperature. This seems easier on my insides and more sustainable.
I have also found out that water with electrolytes is better for me. I don’t know how I would manage that while traveling in other countries.
I would appreciate your thoughts for your personal decisions in this area.

    1. @John, I’m not fancy about it. I try to drink a fair amount of water when home, and when out I try to have a bottle of whatever kind is available (or fits in my bag). I think my big downfall is when I don’t drink quite enough because I’m out for long walks and am not sure where I will find bathrooms. Oh, and I do have electrolyte pills for when I walk/etc particularly hard.
