Title: Statia Panel 1: Drawing of me sitting eating breakfast on a grand porch overlooking the ocean. Caption, "12/16/22 - Tired from being awake so late from yesterday's coffee, I managed to get up and shower before going down for a great complimentary breakfast spread." -- Panel 2: Drawing of Me walking down the street with the Quill volcano in the background. Caption, "I walked the 2.5 mile round trip to town to get some instant coffee and stuff for PB&Js at "Duggins Shopping." The previous night with Jay driving us through town it felt like an enormous maze, but at the speed of walking I got a much better feel of things." -- Panel 3: Drawing of me drawing in a notebook while sitting on a couch on a veranda. Caption, "Spent the afternoon working on the journal comic, doing my work on the veranda as much as possible." -- Panel 4: Drawing of Jay and I sitting in a field, surrounded by enormous volcanic rocks. Caption, "In the evening I went over to "walk" the dogs (sit in a field while they roll around)." -- Panel 5: Drawing of a very hair dog. Caption, "Rosie was the first to greet me, a frenzied ball of joy, and kept her distance at first, unsure of me, before quickly warming up to me." -- Panel 6: Drawing of plump happy dog. Caption, "And then Annie. Waddling up to me with a tumor on her side as big as her stomach. So sweet and good natured." -- Panel 7: Drawing of disgruntled looking wiry old dog. Caption, "And last, slightly shy King, Who loves being scratched (but not on his right side, where he has some chronic pain)." -- Panel 8: Drawing of Jay, Colette, Carla, and myself sitting at dinner with the Caribbean behind us. Caption, "And then Jay and Colette took me to dinner at BarrelHouse St. right on the water (I had the "tofu steak"), with their Swiss friend, Carla (a scuba diving enthusiastic who has done literally thousands of dives)." -- Panel 9: Drawing of me frantically rifling through my luggage. Caption, "12/17/22 - Slept much better. In the morning tried to find Joe's house key to give to him and was mortified that I couldn't find it. Finally I found it caught in the fold of a suitcase pocket. To come down from the panic, I praised myself for my persistence, for remembering those folds of pocket fabric, and for having put the key exactly where I originally thought I had."
