Not that, exactly.” Annoyed, Knox said, “Whatever you’re thinking, the answer is ‘no.’ Let’s get this whole stupid thing done with.” Thoos sat up on the armrest of the couch they were sitting on and said, “Okay, you know how the desert planet of Markeron is nearby?” Knox said, “No. And I’m not interested.” Thoos explained, “I suggest we go there, get drunk on limbic fizzlers, rent hover-dune jet-bikes and ride around recklessly.” Grinning, Knox said, “Well, if you put it that way.”

While personally, that does sound like awesome fun, I’m kind of feeling like the overarching plot’s kind of gone missing.
Also, didn’t one of them need a fairly frequent injection not to die or something?
Picknar’s Tith body needs meds “regularly” or they’ll die, but that’s Val’s problem for the nonce … and really only after the stomach pains set in.
Yeah, but surely Picknar would still be “Ooh, I should have taken my medication about now. Oh no, my body!” at some point, surely?
Nobody SAID Thoos and Picknar had to return their swapped bodies in good shape, after all. Busted up in a sand dune crash or keeled over from an unknown disease, it’s all good. Right??
I’m in. Hover Jet Bike first, then to the Limbic Fizzlers. Just like stock car racing. Race first, Beer later. 🙂
With space medecine I would have a blast flying drunk on a hover jet bike. Each rider gets a medic bot with the bike. And, LOTS of pain patches.????
