Picking up her drink, Audri said, “Heh. Remember those idiots who chased us on Gorend, but we were saved by your lead foot.” Val, picking up her drink, said, “A toast to adrenaline, and the stupid things it makes us do!” They tinked glasses together, and Audri said, “What’s it like to get old, Val?” Val said, “I guess I’ll never know.” Audri said, “Despite you knowing what I mean, I’m not getting any further with that line of inquiry, am I?” Val said dismissively, “Sorry, I can’t understand the babble spoken by young babies.”
