Today’s comic is 3-tiered because with writing it just made sense (and I don’t plan on it being a habit). But the next strip it will be only one tier, so there’s that.

On the bridge, Lasper said, “what makes you think that Valerie and I would-” Yakky cuts him off and said, “Love-” Kniff corrects yakky and said, “Lust.” Yakky continued, “-always makes you act like a fool. How soon after meeting val did you check your approxiscan for sexual compatibility?” Indignant, Lasper said, “You are so not a romantic, Yakky.” Yakky persisted and said, “Well….?” Lasper admitted, “Two days.” And then he exclaimed, “Yes, I fell for Val! And yes, we’re lovers! Okay?! I was going to tell you both eventually.” Kniff looked over at him and said, “Wait, you really thought we wouldn’t figure it out?” Feeling empathy, Lasper said, “They’re just lost. two sweet women who are lost and in the wrong bodies.” Yakky yelled back, “They were traveling with a Bollyck, Lasper. That spells t-r-o-u-b-l-e.” Still confused, Kniff said, “Wait, like, you really thought we wouldn’t figure it out?” Annoyed, Lasper justified with, “Come on, it’s not like i’m going to do anything stupid. I just really like her. okay?” Baffled, Kniff persisted, “You reallllly thought we wouldn’t figure it out?” Fed up with it, Lasper exclaimed to Kniff, “Yes, Kniff. Okay?! It’s true. I didn’t guess that you’d figure it out.” Calmly back to work, Kniff said, “Consider my faith in your captainship not reassured.”

It might be, Lasper, that you should have said “were lovers“.
Picknar might think it was stupid. If Lasper is attracted to the body and not the mind, things will really be awkward if they switch back.
Honestly, a body-switching scenario makes the question of consent really thorny.
If I was a victim of an accidental body switch, I’d be happy enough to get my body back in as good a condition I left it in. If they find time to live life before the switch back, just make sure to clean up after.
The original body swapping wasn’t that consentual for the humans, so they may feel justified treating their host bodies as respectfully as they expect the tiths are treating theirs.
Has there been a captain in the SpaceTrawler universe who actually had subordinate crew?
Honestly feels less like being a Captain is less about leading the ship and crew and more like being the buttmonkey for morale and the scapegoat once things enviably go wrong.
Rickshaw Boans? Gurf’s brother? There’s gotta be at least one.
Hahaha! Fair point. Something that might help, is to think of it more like a business, and the captain is the boss (since almost none of these have been military vessels). And bosses… well, they’re maybe more fair game?
