Title: Snorkeling Panel 1: Drawing of me examining things at the Saint Eustatius Historical Foundation Museum. Caption, "1/4/23 - I went to the Saint Eustatius Historical Foundation Museum. Small but informative. Small enough that I read almost every plaque. And they had a gorgeous embroidery piece." -- Panel 2: Drawing of the woman working at the museum and I talking. Caption, "The woman who worked there was as interesting as the museum was. A complete history nerd, who also does stand-up historically-based comedy. It was nice chatting." -- Panel 3: Drawing of me walking near some grass that leads down to sand and rocks by the waters of Oranjestad bay. Caption, "1/5/23 - I had asked Lynn where it was good to snorkel, and she said there were some stairs to a tiny beach at the north end of Van Tonningeweg into Oranjestad bay, so I checked it out." -- Panel 4: Drawing of my hand holding a pineapple tart, with the buildings and waters of Oranjestad bay behind and below. Caption, "I also went downtown to post another letter, and see if they had any "butter bread" at Sandbox Tree Bakery. They only make it on Fridays, so I got a pineapple tart and ate it on the slave trail wall." -- Panel 5: Drawing of me walking in a department store among dish towels. Caption, "I finally was at Duggins when their upstairs was open, which is kinda a dept store. But I only got to browse about half of it when the upstairs clerk was called elsewhere and I was asked to leave. Weird." -- Panel 6: Drawing of me throwing four cookies over a fence into bushes and trees. Caption, "I had bought some chocolate hobnobs, but was not able to control my eating of them. There were only a handful left, but I threw them over the fence. I hate my sugar addiction." -- Panel 7: Drawing of me putting a snorkeling mask on as Lynn walks backwards, already geared up, into Oranjestad bay. Caption, "1/6/23 - Lynn invited me to snorkel. Like with the Boven, I knew basically where to go and what to expect, but... not really. So it helped a lot to have her there." -- Panel 8: Drawing of Lynn and I snorkeling above a small reef on the old underwater city wall, a turtle swims beneath us. Caption, "We saw a stingray, a lobster, sunfish, and a bunch of other kinds of fish. I think my favorite thing was Seeing a turtle gracefully swimming by. -- Panel 9: Drawing of Lynn and I eating at night outside with the Caribbean in the background, she has a sweatshirt on and I have a blanket over my shoulders. Caption, "Afterwards she had me over for dinner, and thanked me for helping her use all the random vegetables and things in her fridge. Pumpkin lentil lime soup, potato broccoli cream casserole, salad, and flan (and good company). I was happy to "help"!"
