Hey, check out the guest strip I’m doing for Dave Kellett’s funny awesome strip, “Drive!” I did an eleven page story, and one will post every Tuesday, so make sure you keep up on it! (and read the archives too. Worth it).

Halfway through the week already! I want more days! Things to do!

Been having a strange week. Arrived in Boulder with heavy snow and below freezing temperatures. A few days later it hit 60 and most of the snow is gone. But the place is lovely, quiet and conducive for getting tons of work done. And the two dogs we’re watching are as sweet as can be. Yay, life!

Definitely check out the Drive story. They’ve all been great so far. I’m really looking forward to seeing what you do with the place. No intricate backgrounds yet but I’m watching.

You’re looking good, Yuri (a bit older and marked by your experiences, but definitely humanoid, good on you.)

You’re house is so beautiful – look at the lush landscapes (it is not a radio-active crater so that’s a relief right there.)

We came here to ask for your assistance (what could go wrong?).

    (ps
when you hack into our ship’s life support systems, please only use sub-lethal itching nanobots and release them into the brig.)

      Errrrmm. . .

Yuri looks considerably more haggard to me, as compared to the last time we saw her making tea for the furryites. I’m actually a lot more worried about the well-being of our little team.

Except Gurf. Who couldn’t love Gurf?

Well, according to Devyat, this is 18-19 years after the original Spacetrawler. So Yuri’s in her mid-thirties to mid-forties now, depending on how old she was back then (I’m not sure, but I got the impression she was in college or just out of college, so early-to-mid twenties?).

Granted, she still looks “older” than the others (and wow, it took that long for Emily and Poirot to have a kid?), some of whom started out older than her to begin with. But then the whole reason she’s here instead of out having a galactic career like the others is because she’s so much more broken. So it sort of makes sense that she’s have spent those years under more stress, even if her life was less eventful during that time.

Nogg mentioned some sort of super space medicine at the beginning of the new story that he gave to Old Man Zorilla. I figured that everyone else in the cast was also getting those medicines, and that’s what’s keeping the cast young and lively (especially Dimitri, who’s a lot older than everyone else because of his time in the other universe). Yuri, on the other hand, is on an isolated planet in the middle of nowhere that doesn’t like technology, so she’s probably aging normally.

I’m always amazed when you post art at your ability to change styles, and I have to admit, while I see the difference now that I know you drew it, when I read Drive yesterday, I didn’t realize it wasn’t Kellett’s. Great work, looking forward to the story, you seem a perfect fit for it.

There is Yuri looking very human even with both arms and hands replaced by robotic parts. She looks older from wear less physical than emotional. She obviously doesn’t want the chance to kill again. She was afraid she had it the first time. Now she knows. No more killing—-please? But we need your psychotic killing machine persona. Only this once….

YURI!!!! So happy to see you again! And you’re doing well, and haven’t lost your sense of humor. I’ve missed (and worried about) you. Durnit, Chris, I’m so attached to these characters!
