How good are the Stribs, really, when you take away their overwhelming technological advantage? I bet they rely so much on this crutch that they’re actually terrible at teamwork and tactics.

Plus, lots of Strib ships just means a lot of possibilities for jerky fire. (The Strib equivalent to friendly fire, since Stribs are never friendly.)

“… they’re actually terrible at teamwork and tactics.” They amply demonstrated this in the hunt for Ruddock aboard their ship. The Strib “leadership” wandered about arguing amongst themselves and shot at least one of their own crew.

An interesting thought. The Stribs put a great deal of faith in the visible. But they are tone-deaf to the unusual, even when it’s aboard their ship killing them. And taking over their ship’s computer.

Between Ruddock, the robo-mice, the crew of the Pungent Lunger, Nogg, Ciara, the thugs from Mining Station Kellthrx, Choan, and yes, Aitana, we could see the deployment of tactics for which the Stribs have no defense and may not have a word. Plus the… thing I promised I would not mention, no no no no no.

I’m gonna have a more-sour lemonade and get ready to grin on Friday. Up the Irish! And the robo-mice!

Blind spots can be your own undoing if only your enemy can see them.

The Martians of “War of the Worlds” had everything but knowledge of biology and it killed them all in the end leaving their enemy with their weapons! The second attack will work out differently. If they ever figure out what happened and how to immunize for it.

Too bad Ruddock is in stasis, he could have ordered the first ship to shoot at the others. Then, knowing the stribbs, they would quickly exterminate themselves.
