    I’d guess the 360° eye on the top serve to detect those flying things (predators?), and the fixed mouth near the ground suggest they eat stuff from the ground without using their limbs.

    If they are dangerous, and not useful or necessary, technology would be able to solve this problem.

    Assumes they are not sapient. Galactic tech turns coyotes and kangaroos sapient, so these things probably qualify. I suspect that rocks qualify.

    I’m confused. Judging by the sizable rut in the turf the transport is leaving, I would expect its glowing wheels to be emitting some sort of considerable force, considering it now holds three times the mass (roughly) that it started with.

    Yet Choan is able to rest her foot on the aft glowing torus with no apparent effect, ill or otherwise. Are physics that much different here? And if so, when will our adventurous duo get smacked in the crankcase by them?
