The more the merrier. Maybe without the merry part.

Yeah, go tell that to the US reporters who were charged with “hacking” for daring to look at social security data (that should never have been there in the first place, which was the whole point) in the HTML source code of a freely available public webpage…

Was it readily available, or did a highly skilled hacker manage to break security AND disable the data scrambling, which she mentioned doing?
I do not think “readily” means what you think it means.

I’d like to see Choan doing a half-hearted attempt at running from a pursuing Poudric. But it’d have to be an animation, because I really want to see how these guys run with only one leg. I imagine they’re just hopping along frantically, like kids sometimes do for fun.

Just to save me the trouble of doing the research, when did Ruddock lose his collar laser? It used to be a pretty obvious projection on the top of the collar. I’m assuming he got disarmed back at the G.O.B., but it wasn’t shown.

    1. @TB, well, he had it on when last seen in the main story (although in his last “appearance” he’s under Halip’s desk, so he may not be wearing it). But he isn’t wearing it when in THIS story, where he’s simply domestically living with Emily and Pierrot. So it’s never shown being removed, but that’s the split. 🙂

Poudric’s still living in the realm of duty and expectations. A realm Choan left before she triggered the Bupillion potholer the first time.

A type of freedom few of us will ever live to see. Assuming, of course, that we can stand living with it. Not as easy as you might think it must be.

Just as a sidenote, this is the first open expression of power through superior technology Choan has allowed herself. She mocked Werjimond for her presumed weakness for wanting tech and the oney it brought, but didn’t try to strongarm her into anything. Poudric’s not so lucky. Unless he reaches for a new level of freedom himself and tells Choan to bugger off, potholer and all. But he’s bound by duty, you see.

And now it’s up to Choan to decide where to go next, and what to do with what she finds. This is wisdom? Sez who?
