01/01/24 – Pact Reconsidering

|

Jo sits in a recliner in Val's living room, as Val stands over her. Val says, "I don't know, Jo. maybe we should reconsider our suicide pact." Jo throws her arms in the air and yells, "come on. you promised!" Val smiles kindly and says, "I know. but we're doing okay, aren't we? Okay jobs. We have each other as best friends." Annoyed, Jo replies, "hey, if you want to stay on this planet as it burns and our species consumes itself, go for it." Val tries to be encouraging, and offers, "come on. isn't hanging out with me worth it? Hey, I know, do you want to move in with me? We're best friends. I'd love that." Jo pauses and ponders that and says, "well. hm that doesn't sound half bad." Val walks into her kitchen and says, "maybe once we're older and our aches and pains become too much, we'll reconsider the whole suicide thing." Jo follows her, wary, and says, "are you sure you're not going to become sick of me? Because, that'd do it. I'd be done." Val leans back against her counter and says, "what's mine is yours. You'll always have a room in my home." Jo gets excited and says, "dibs on the master bedroom." Val corrects herself and says, "not that room."

  1. That was…much easier than I expected.

Just waiting for the other shoe to drop. Plus, there needs to be some reason these two furless apes end up meeting the other one or two protagonists we’ve met.

    Eventually.

      1. LOL. I mean, it could happen. And it’s very likely that only -one- of each group will be protagonists; we’ll have to see. But I’m guessing that someone from each group will meet someone from the other; otherwise why are they even in the same story?
