I know it’s silly, but dandelions are possibly my favorite flowers. They simply make me smile.

As Lasper and Val walked along in the dark, Lasper noticed some flowers. He said, “Wow. Those are so amazing.” Val asked, “What are?” Pointing at the flowers, Lasper said, “Those. The most beautiful flowers I’ve ever seen. so simple, yet so perfect.” Val said with good humor, “hahaha! Oh Lasper, that’s lovely. Nobility for the humble dandelion.” Kneeling down, he plucked one and put is in her fur and said, “And the most perfect flower rewarded to the one with the most perfect laugh.” Still smiling, Val said, “Wou’re so sweet.” He stood up and said, “As are you, Val. Although… I do have a request.” Holding up a hand to indicate “stop,” she said, “Wait. Please. Can I have just a few more minutes before you ruin things?” Lasper replied, “I wasn’t going to ruin things.” Feeling defeated, Val said, “Okay. Fine. Sure. Go ahead. Do it.” Lasper explained, “I was just going to ask if we could hide our affections from the others for a little while.” Pissed off, Val said, “Phew. Thank goodness you didn’t ruin things.”

What I like most about the Dandy Lions is you can cut their heads off with the mower and they grow back – short enough to laugh at the blades next time.
Ah, the sweet scent of sentiment and deception. When honesty is a burden, not a boon. No getting away from it, really. Sometimes the sweeter things are what you must hide the hardest.
