As the medi-bot returned down the stairs, Val yelled after it, “Get lost, robot. I’m not interested.” The medi-bot said, “Trust me, the feeling’s mutual.” Then, getting a little pumped, Val said to Audri, “You’re right. It is all stupidly bad. Finding our bodies, trying to love again, all of it. I want to go with you. I want to leave and disappear. Two women: hideous, depressed, and feeling stupidly reckless!” Joining in the excitement, Audri said, “About to go on vacation from everything stupidly bad!” Val then pulled out a pen and a piece of paper and said, “Hold on. Just a quick note.” Leaving the dandelion and her necklace, Val wrote, “L. Thanks. Here’s something to remember me by. V.” As they left the room, Audri said, “So, what’s sex with an alien… as an alien… like?” Val said, “Unfortunately, it was stupidly good.”
