Gerek pried the escape pod way from the hull with a loud “Krunk!” which of course no one could hear because it’s a vacuum. As Audri and Val drifted away, Audri yelled back at him, “No! Gerek! Nooooooo! Oh, Gerek. The universe will never know bravery like you have shown! Not only by saving us three times, but by bucking the pressure to conform to Bollyck norms of slaughtering and looting! Our fallen comrade! We mourn your death!” Approaching the view out the back entrance, Val observed, “He’s not dead yet. I can still see him back on the ship.” Audri said, “Yeah, but he’s soon to be.” Val said, “Look, Audri, he’s waving.” She began waving and continued, “Buh-bye, Gerek! Buh-byyyyyye!” Audri said, “You’re not taking this seriously.” stretching her mouth wide with her fingers, Val said, “Oh look, now he’s making faces. Two can play at that. Blurreghhh!”

I noticed this before, but it didn’t sink in until today. Who took the other missing escape pod? And does this have anything to do with the missing spacesuits from the other pod? I’ve got to pay closer attention here; details are getting away from me.
Nice thought Pete! Looking back, I think the airlock where the spacesuits are missing is the same where the pod is missing (and the one Gerek went out), so the suits may well have gone with whoever took the pod. I don’t think it’s anyone we’ve met yet, but Val and Audri might catch up to them.
This is super clever thinking, but…. I’m afraid it’s not that clever on my side of things.
I should have drawn the additional airlock different, so it looks like just a non-escape pod door, because there is no mysteriously missing escape pod. And the reason for no spacesuits, is that they were removed by the builders so that no one on the ship can escape that way.
Ohhh, phooey. Well, it was an interesting rabbit hole while it lasted.

Why the pods were installed at all is maybe the true mystery
