I often find I most enjoy the nonchalant throwaway lines. It’s the line, “We couldn’t convince any robots to administer it because they felt it was too unethical” which keeps making me giggle.

-The guard said to Audri, “You’re probably too late. But sure. Come on.” Audri yelled, “Hurrrryyyyy!!!!” Picknar asked, “What is this this serum you keep talking about?” Audri yelled, “Bad serum. Baaaaaad! Hurry!” The scene then changed to Val and Thoos’s cell, with a medic holding an enormous syringe, saying “So, how are my two little patients doing today?” Val said, “Okay, except that we’re in prison, strapped down, wondering what the hell is in that needle you’re waving around?” The medic said, “Just something we give to our special ‘forever’ inmates, so they’ll die if they ever try to leave. We couldn’t convince any robots to administer it because they felt it was too unethical. So I got the job! Some of us are just lucky, I guess.” Thoos said, “I suppose trying to convince you not to do it is out of the question.” The medic replied, “I can’t even conceptualize that premise!”
