As Gerek, Audri, and Val drove the hover-car away, Audri said, “maybe Gerek should drive! I’m sure he knows more about space car things!” But Val said, “I’ll do it. Do you have any idea how many years I rode in go-cart races in my life?!” Audri said, “you think childhood driving of small death traps qualifies you?!” Val said, “considering our situation: yes.” Gerek tried to be encouraging and said, “you’re doing great.” Seeing a ship taking off in the distance, Val said, “Audri taught me to look for ships going up and down to find the spaceport! I’m taking us there.” Gerek said, “I’m beginning to think I underestimated you two.” Audri said, “no problem. People have thought me not very competent my entire life.” Gerek said, “that’s sad that people never saw your worth.” Audri said, “naw. They were usually correct.”
