If nothing else, Loomp seems pretty practical.

Professor Festus Loomp sat at their desk, hands folded, and spoke to Picknar and Thoos who sat on the office couch. Loomp said, “There will be no surgery, nothing invasive but in the end, Thoos, your consciousness and thoughts will be in Picknar’s body, and vice versa.” Loomp pointed at them emphatically, “and you will be the first I’ve tried this on, so there is some risk. Not only of the transferring, if it even works, but also in the transferring back. Which is why the compensation is so ridiculously generous.” Picknar asked, “is part of why you chose me because i didn’t put anyone down as a beneficiary if I die?” Looking slightly concerned, Thoos asked Picknar, “really? you didn’t either?” Looking away from them, Loomp said, “that, and… based on your personal history of friendships, no one would miss you.”
