It’s good to be consistent about some things. Although maybe not this particular one.

Jo, glass in hand, says, “well, Val, at least you don’t have to put up with emotions like that much longer. Our suicide pact is in two weeks.” Looking a bit miserable, Val says, “yeah. That’s been on our ‘to do’ list since we were teenagers. It’ll be nice to check it off before we hit the big five-zero.” She then turns to Jo and says with a slight look of pleading in her eyes, “because you still want us to do it? yeah?” Jo settles herself into the other recliner and says, “yes! Of course! No regrets! I am so done with this stupid world!” And then takes a sip of her drink and continues, “although, speaking of our ‘to do’ list, I never got around to item #17: ‘kissing Mark Wahlberg.'” Val also drinks, and says, “yeah, well, mine was Charlie Sheen. I think we both dodged bullets there. We had terrible taste.” Jo enthusiastically reaches out, and Val resignedly does, and they clink glasses. Jo says, “looking at our dating history, I’d say we still do, gal! Cheers to that.” Val says, “good god. yeah, we do.”
