It’s frustrating to be trying to be amorous but having your brain unable to stop babbling about silly things like a long drop to one’s death.

Knox returned back to Rodrigo, and Rodrigo approached him, Rodrigo said, “We haven’t been on a nighttime romantic walk like this in ages, with the air and wind making us feel alive and amorous.” Knox said, “I love you, but perhaps we can be more romantic once we’ve escaped.” Smiling, with a twinkle in his eye, Rodrigo said, “But then the moment and magic in the air will have passed.” Knox said, “Okay. Fair.” They kissed dramatically and romantically. But as they kissed, Knox opened one eye slightly to look at the long drop below them, and then his eyes got wider and wider. Rodrigo noticed, unimpressed, and said, “Sigh. Never mind. You’re distracted by our mission-thing, whatever it is.” Knox said, “Surviving?” Knox held up a hand and said, “Yes-yes. That. Go on. I won’t hold it against you.”

Wrong time for them to fall for each other.
They’re already couple.
“fall”
Wrong time to do anything but stay alive.
This explains a lot of movie moments where people hug each other for several minutes even as the villain or awful thing (could be lava) is sprinting towards them, and the viewer wants to chuck something at the screen to get them moving again. Love later, survive now.
Make of the moments what you want when you can.
Before, y’know, they do the same to you.
The last mention of Knox in the alt text here “Knox held up a hand” should be Rigo.
I wish they would have closed the window.
Like, that would make so much sense to do, because people love coming into their murderdungeon and finding it empty and every opening is closed from the outside.
It’s traditional!
