Gerek is no dummy.

On the screen on the bridge, Gerek continued and said, “Well, are you going to come after me, or should I just leave and ditch your ship in some volcano somewhere?” One of the interloping aliens said, “You wouldn’t.” Second-In-Command yelled, “Get him!” And they all ran down the stairs to their ship. Lasper said to Gerek through the communicator, “Gerek! What are you doing? You couldn’t beat them all here, what makes you think you’ll be able to do it there?” Gerek pressed a button and said, “Meh. Because of this. I just locked them in their own airlock. Now I’ll just ditch this ship somewhere, and wash my hands of it.” Kniff said, “Hey. Um. Good job with that. Outsmarting them.” Gerek rested his head in his hands and said, “Sigh. Does outsmarting really count when you’re dealing with idiots?”

They are about as smart as most of our worlds polititions! 😉
A ship of fools. Angry mobs are known to be mindless.
Oh hey, that last panel – new reaction image!
OK, but how is he gonna get back to Lasper’s ship?
Does he need to? He’s got his own ship now.
Lifeboat. They are a capable spaceship by themself.
That depends on many things.
He needs to send his buddies the location of the ship.
The ones that are not pacifists.
Or he could do turnabout’s fair play and open the airlock. After undocking.
Than he has a free ship! Bonus.
Martina couldn’t do that. I don’t think Gerek can do that.
Gerek is definitely no dummy. I think he’s a monk.
He’s certainly a Trappist.
Dude–of course it does. If it didn’t, I couldn’t fool anybody.
…okay, so they decided to throw him out of the airlock while that airlock was still docked to their own ship? That’s _special_!
Two strips ago, Gerek noticed he was not in the airlock that led to their ship. So, multiple airlocks. One of which on their ship is now full. And locked. Set autopilot to Infinity, with a delay, then pop out another airlock and come back into our ship. Easy. If you are vacuum resistant, anyway.
