Nothing more important than a good handwashing!

Audri came running down the stairway from the lounge and slipped on something in the corridor and exclaimed, “Whoop!” Then walking towards the bridge, she looked back and said, “Hey, someone should mop up the ketchup out there. It’s a real slipping hazard.” Yakky glared at her and said, “That’s not ketchup, Audri, it’s blood. Like gerek has on his hands.” Grinning, Audri said, “Oh, I’m glad it was on his hands and not on theirs. I was concerned he’d be all polite and take a beating. Is that where he is now? Washing his hands?” Somberly, Lasper informed her, “He left. He took off on the boarder’s ship.” Peevish, Audri crossed her arms and said, “Just to wash his hands? They better have had a freaking amazing hand-washing station for him to have gone without saying goodbye.”

Audri, it’s not polite to wave goodbye with bloody hands.
She needs to catch up.
You could say that he decided to wash his hands of this whole situation…
I know I should be sympathetic to Audri in her alien body but, man, is she making it hard for me. She’s way out in the Galaxy, I know, but, man, how spaced can you get?
There is a very broad range of intelligence in the universe. Audri is on the lower part of the bell curve. 🙂
Does that qualify her as a ding-a-ling? Not counting her handbells, of course.
