01/12/26 – Our Own Good Leader

|

A drawing of officer Onjie talking to Val and Audri, who are in a cell, as they look at a screen showing a video of the planet's president. Onjie said, "You can hear about it from our own good leader, Rostlin Kern." From the screen, Rostlin Kern said "Good people of Clentity. As you know, we have long struggled with the complex issue of homelessness. Clentity is an amazing planet that nobody wants to leave, but there's only so much space to build homes." Audri asked Onjie, "Clentity doesn't seem that great. Why does nobody want to leave?" Onjie said, "The fee for moving off-planet is exorbitant." Audri said, "Of course it is." Rostlin Kern continued, "And so we've loaded up a ship with house-building equipment and food synths to colonize the planet Haurk in our system. And also, with every last homeless person invited to be on this flight, the rest of us will no longer have to avoid embarrassing eye-contact. Win-win!" Val said, "Actually, maybe being sent off this planet is a good thing." Audri asked Onjie, "Is there an earlier flight we can get on?"

Time for a drink! And then leave the planet!

These days leaving the planet sounds awfully good. I am so upset about ICE, and the murders and profiling and arresting without warrant and being masked and everything. And Venezuela… I mean, I’m not sad Maduro is gone, he’s not a good guy. But it feels like we’re restarting colonialism. We want their oil. And Greenland next. An ally. I feel so much shame in my country right now. And the white supremacy, the Christian nationalism, the sexism, a president motivated by power and revenge, all of it. We are not a white Christian monarchical patriarchy. Our government is supposed to be for ALL our people.

I don’t like getting political here, but it is important these days to be outspoken and clear. What is happening is wrong, a lot of it is unconstitutional, and it is hurting (and killing) and stripping the rights of so many people.

Anyhow, if you’re wanting to argue, I do believe in free speech, but here, on my websites, I will not be allowing debate. I haven’t heard a debate in good faith online for ages, and there are plenty of places on X where you can debate it.

“…there are plenty of places on X where you can debate it.”

If you are still on Twitter, you are part of the problem. Honestly. Musk is allowing users there to create child sexual abuse imagery over and above all the other problems of a fascist, nationalist, supremacist and otherwise plain evil membership.

    Leave now. Don’t look back.

Or if the Clentity government is really evil (as we suspect), somewhere like Venus with average surface temperature over 460°C, hot enough to melt lead and flash-fry the ship full of homeless people.

I agree with you about the state of the USA. I too am ashamed of my own country right now.
The only thing I disagree on is the use of the word Christian in “white Christian monarchical patriarchy”. There is nothing Christian about the behavior of Christian nationalists and MAGA. Saying one is a Christian does not make one a Christian.
Anyone who can read Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John can see how Christ expects His followers (those who have faith in Him) to behave and what we see from our “leaders” ain’t it.

Sounds like Spokane, WA. The homeless used to have a little encampment down by the river, at least until condos were built across from it. Suddenly, you had rich people complaining about having to look at poor people and now, they’re everywhere downtown…. which, of course, the rich complain about.

I’m here til the last eagle is hanged. And I’m going to stay angry. And armed. And incapable of tolerating fascist bullshit. Half my family lived on the wrong side of the Iron Curtain. You think I’m going to let the crazed privileged tyrants here TRIUMPH? I’ll stack the corpses ten-deep in Hell before I do.
