Val, Audri, and Purrloin were now alone in the lounge. Val said, “I survived klopey-klope disease and now I only want to die.” Audri said, “They’re gone at least.” Val said, “I’ve always hated my body, but now I hate it on a whole new level.” Audri said, “Yeah. That was about the worst way to wake imaginable.” Looking longingly, Val said, “And yet I want it back. Maybe he loves me and just craves my body. If I had it back, then I’d be the perfect package.” Throwing her hands in the air, Audri said, “You’re already the perfect package, Val! If Lasper can’t love you like this, then his love isn’t worth a damn.” Looking humbled, Val said, “Well, thank you. And of course I’ll handle it with dignity and reason, because I still have my self respect. On the other hand, if I hooked up with Kniff or Yakky, that’d really piss him off, wouldn’t it?” Indicating a small amount with her fingers, Audri said, “Yust keep your paws off of our little pantsless butler. I kinda maybe crushed out on him a teensy-tiny bit.”
