-With Knox in the drivers seat of the vehicle, Rodrigo leaned through the window and said, “Knox, are you okay with all this?” Knox said, “I don’t love it. But it’s a fairly solid plan.” Rodrigo said, “Be safe. I can’t imagine life without you.” Knox said, “You too, my love.” They kissed, and then Knox slowly drove off. Rodrigo said to the far-off departing vehicle, “There he goes. My valiant hero. Although, actually, I can imagine life without him. One big glorious parade of 20-something men coming and going like cabs from grand central station.” Picknar commented, “But it wouldn’t be love.” Rodrigo snapped his fingers in recognition, “Right. I knew there was a reason I stay with him.”
