As they say, you can pick your friends, and you can pick your nose, but you can’t pick your friend’s arm and rip it from its socket.

-The shuttle headed towards Underrock Mountain which contained Underrock prison, and then parked in a gated cave. Rodrigo, Gerek, Lasper, Picknar, Heakie, Porpa, Thoos, and Spizz entered the lobby of the prison and were greeted by a uniformed Tith who said, “Welcome, Heakie, Porpa, Thoos and Spizz. Plus escorts of course. My name’s Napforth. By coincidence, everyone else seems to be on break, so I’ll have to do the intake. And then it’ll be my ‘pleasure’ to accompany you to the cells I guess.” Rodrigo patted Napforth on the shoulder, planting a small maroon object on their shoulder, and said, “No no no no, my friend. The pleasure is ours.” Napforth looked at him nastily and said, “I’m not your friend. Friends don’t rip their friend’s arm out of its socket like I’m tempted to do.” Pondering that, Rodrigo said, “That is generally true, isn’t it?”

I mean, you *can*, but they might not keep being your friend afterward.
Rigo *did* say “generally true”.
And countdown to Murphy being an ass begins now….
So, rather like Wookies…. Pop! Look, your arm’s off! It’s only a flesh wound.
What sort of device did Rigo just plant on the frend-shaped non-friend?
I have to say, I missed the planting of the “small maroon object” in the strip – only found out about it in the alt text. But I see it now in the last panel.
The Underrock lobby is reminiscent of the first Death Star’s detention block.
Aha! The nefarious unknown MacGuffin whatsit! Always useful, even when it breaks, goes haywire, or gets attached to the wrong person. More fun coming up. I’m getting more Jujubes. Who wants some?
A guy I worked with accidently shot his neighbor in the stomach with a .22. they were about 12, and he survived. I asked him if his neighbor was his friend after that, and he got very embarresed and said “no”. 🙂
Nobody wants a friend of that caliber.
