  1. What are those things, tethered fire birds? I’m not sure what is being depicted there.

  2. I wonder if the elemental yontengus asked why their abilities don’t turn off.

  3. The Fowl of Fire.

  4. Oh my, a genuine creature of hell!

  5. Awww, come on, it just wants to be friends!

  6. OK, it looks like Juilie’s feeling a little woozy from the gunshot.. Unless she’s borderline autistic. Then random silly stuff is part of the territory. 🙂

  7. @GnarlyDoug, Sheesh, bro! They’re fireflies!

    @0z79, that’s just “Badass Boast / Pre-Asskicking One-Liner” stuff. Check out the TV Tropes website for more examples.

    And my first thought on seeing the Fire Yontengu was, “Whoo-Wee! Get that super burrito with extra Mad Dog hot sauce to go!”

    (Not as good as Julie’s I know, but hey, I haven’t had lunch yet.)

  8. See, it doesn’t strike me as any kind of one-liner. That kind of non-sequitur from somebody who’s been shot not too long ago is not a good sign.

  9. Now I’m confused why the Original Guy didn’t just destroy them all. Julie seems to be able to do it rather quickly, if he had 80 hours to live why couldn’t he go and finish them all

  10. @MUZHIK

    Of course they are fireflies. Not sure what I was thinking there, so obvious.

    @DAN

    Good point, it does seem like she is able to get to these places quickly. Maybe days are going by and we don’t know? Or else maybe Original Guy has hidden motives like we were discussing in previous comments.

  11. I thought that the other three Yontengu weren’t yet activated when Gorro killed the Air Yontenga (Yontengus is the plural form, no? Yontengii??)

  12. Hmm..this one doesn´t look very frightened to me. She should be able to kill it without remorse.
