Hope you all had a lovely and SAFE St. Patrick’s Day. I like green dyed Guinness as much as the next fellah, but be safe. Life is precious.

Hey, if you’ve been meaning to buy any Spacetrawler/LittDee/Bruno merchandise from TopatoCo, now wouldn’t be a bad time. The outdoor Tucson Book Festival was a bit of an expensive trip, and well, it kinda got rained out. Anyhow, just saying.

Oh, and you can also donate, and with it, you still get the 2011 “Holiday Tip” special comic, if you missed it (I really need to update that link).  😉

All is well here. Got a bit of a bug while traveling, but nothing horrid. Just getting caught up and all that.

  1. I just cannot tell you how fucking much I love this comic. Your pacing, dialogue, and plot-direction have all been top-notch, and I cannot stop recommending you to everyone I know. Thank you*!

*I can only sign in every other month because your writing is consistently engaging enough that waiting for the new comic is painful, which is excellent, but painful.

“Good gentle youth, tempt not a desperate man.
Fly hence and leave me. Think upon these gone.
Let them affright thee. I beseech thee, youth,
Put not another sin upon my head
By urging me to fury. O, be gone!
By heaven, I love thee better than myself,
For I come hither armed against myself.
Stay not, be gone. Live, and hereafter say
A madman’s mercy bid thee run away.”

  3. I have to say more about Krep”s expression. He looks like he’s just realized his best friend and hero is not gone. He could have handled gone. He’s mourning her, but he’s mourning that she lives, in this way.

Stages of grief, an instinct that never gets boring being portrayed in a story.

Anyhoo, I just realized I read Krep with the voice of Mantis from Kung Fu Panda: Legends Of Awesomeness. He’s the only one I read with a voice; the others are all speaking in Written English in my imagination: a silent word-transmission that never has tone or volume, only information.

    Asperger Syndrome is weird.

In a way it’s much worse and painful to see her like this, then at any other point in her story arc. I don’t mean that in a bad way. I mean this is very effective writing!

She has the death wish but sadly lacks Emily’s or Growp’s training, Yuri’s weaponry or Dmitri’s luck and chutzpah. My feeling is that at the moment, as an assassin, she’ll be bloody but not very effective. And it will kill her. She’s a suicide bomber. Death is sitting right on her shoulder.

Or maybe not. Maybe she get some kind of clean vindication before she’s done.

.. Hmm.. That is a bit odd. Her dagger is long.. OH! I get it. The handles wrapped around the metal like my sword is. .. xD started this with a question of ‘why is her blade so short’

Erm, am I the only one to find Martina’s despair-fueled rage kind of hot? I mean, I know she’s an emotional ruin, unable to process her feelings of deceit, self-deceit and several flavors of betrayal, but dayum, that woman got heart.

That little green dude is cool — but I keep hearing his lines in the voice of that odd shopkeeper from Little Britain — “this is a _local_ shop, for _local_ people…”

I hope before this series ends, that we get a few pages where Martina and Yuri are sitting alone in a bar somewhere, having a conversation. These two sweet people who ended up as broken cyborgs would have a LOT to talk about, and I’d love to hear it.
