Ah Occam’s Razor… sometimes the simplest reasons are often the most likely.

My only real question is: How did two such maladapts and lowlifes as Stangor’s parents ever meet in the first place? And what in God’s green Heaven made them think having a child would be a good idea?

I can’t devise any explanation that doesn’t rely on bad faith, astounding stupidity, a truly appalling lack of vision about the future, or a solid current of evil running through them as a thousand volts runs through a copper busbar.

Stangor by herself serves as a reminder that the universe can be capricious and cruel. But thinking of her parents makes me realize she was a CONSCIOUS decision by “thinking” (sic) beings to bring her into the world and sic her on the Galaxy. That they now contemplate reversing that decision doesn’t make it, or them, any better. Far from it.

The only worse thing they could do is— No. Not my circus, not my monkeys. I’ll shut up now and just get another straw for my pop. I seem to have bitten this one clear in half. And it was made of Lexan. Ow.

Aitana’s hair is quite a bit longer than I expected. Maybe more time has passed than I am aware on this voyage so far.

Lexan is tough stuff I would have expected shattered and impacted teeth.

Not always good hearing the family life of others. Stangor reminds me of Law and Order finding out about some of the character’s back ground like Lenny was dark oh so dark. Stangor’s is like that. Best not to pry…
