It’s always good to keep in mind that there are adventures which don’t involve horrible aliens enslaving fellow humans.

As an old GM, that is a neat trick to play once a decade or so: describe things for the players/PCs they wayyou normally do, but nothing sinister appears, no quests or tasks, no wizards or empires to build or serve or topple. Just normal mundane stuff for the setting.
And smile, as your players amp up their paranoia through the stratosphere.

This lull has been pre-ruined by the cartoon of 2023-02-15. We know there’s a nasty unexpected denouement coming up the lift; we just don’t know what form it’s going to take or, for that matter, who’s going to buy it when Science shows up.

I tremble now for Martina’s little niece, Aitana. Martina’s adventure ended badly, too. I cringe in anticipation of what’s to come. No, no more popcorn, or Dr. Pepper. But these seat arms are going to need replacement once you pry my clenched fingers off of them.
