There’s laid back, and then there’s LAID BACK.

-Val and Audri lay on the couches of the lounge on Lasper’s ship. Val said, “I don’t believe it. A week has passed, and we haven’t come up with any good ideas.” Audri said, “You know, I do want all of us to get our bodies back, Val, but at this point I mainly just want to help you get your body back. I’ve come to love you like a sister. You make me brave, you make me feel more open to life.” Val said, “Stop. You’re gonna make me start crying. And yeah, I feel the same.” Audri continued, “I mean, at the beginning of this whole stupid thing, I needed a rock-solid perfect plan before I did anything. Now if we came up with even the most idiotic plan, if it stood any chance of success — I feel laidback enough to do it.” A little worried, Val said, “You’re not saying you’re feeling laid-back enough to do Thoos’s unredeemably stupid plan, are you?” Audri said, “Oh, honey, I don’t think I’ll ever be that laid-back.”
