A Tith of action.

-As Napforth pointed a gun at them, Porpa asked, “Why are you doing this?” Napforth said, “The wealthy act like gods, sucking all the life out of a planet until there’s no middle class, no hope. Well, there are consequences when you screw over literally everyone!” Putting their hands up, Heakie said, “Heh. Don’t be a jackass. Surely we can talk about-” And then Napforth shot Heakie and Porpa out of existence, splubt splubt. Glaring down at the smoking spot where they had just been standing, Napforth said, “That’s my way of talking about it! With actions speaking louder than words!” Picknar said, “I hope you weren’t expecting a rebuttal.”

Once again in your comics, life is cheap and can end at any moment. Sometimes just for a throwaway gag! Though, I suppose it would be incredibly naive of me to think that Thoos’s arc with their parents had any hope of ever eventually leading to any degree of mutual recognition and understanding. They had endlessly demonstrated that they were very, very, very, very bad people, even to those close to them, and you don’t do that kind of stuff if you’re in any way open to reconsidering any aspect of your position. Still, oof, ouch, that one hit me right in the anticlimax. Are you still regretting giving Kuu-Drahc that long drawn-out heartfelt death scene? Those two went down like a healthcare CEO.
In the family of Assholier-than-thou, reconciliation and mutual understanding would be a terrible, terrible thing for the universe.
@Strain_Of_Thought, ha! I’d forgotten how I’d killed Ku-Drahc until you just mentioned it. Yeah, I try not to do it often, but it still makes me laugh. Since Heakie and Porpa were defined but didn’t have a significant role, I feel pretty good about this. Almost gleeful.
Ku-Drahc… remind me? (Is there a way to search for this?)
Kuu-Drahc was the leader of the GOB in the first Spacetrawler series. The red squid-headed guy with the beady eyes and the spaghetti-tentacle hands. At the end of the second book he gets crushed under… I think it was a ship crash landing on him, maybe? But while his injuries are fatal, he is bleeding out very slowly, and so has *hours* to continue talking with other characters and has a whole heartfelt conversation with Nogg. It’s a very very drawn out death scene for a major villain, the antithesis of this page.
Well! A happy event for a change. Maybe he will allow them to talk to the doctor (mad scientist).
Here’s where the blackmail comes in. Pay up or be framed for killing your parents. But Napforth didn’t foresee that that’s not really Thoos and wouldn’t know how to pay.
Um, didn’t Picknar go with the other “escorts” on the last page? I’m almost certain they did. Also, not looking forward to seeing Thoos finding out about this.
Doubt they got out of earshot before crazy there went off.
@Scorpinac, It was not shown anyone leaving except for Rodrigo. but I also didn’t keep them “on camera.” I might go back and show them. Did not mean to confuse.
Well, that’s one problem solved I guess.
Splubt!
No no, he was right about that one, “Kill them, THEN one-liner.”
Excellent Don Martin sound effects once again! I hear that as the wet leftover bits hitting the floor.
I think that the gun holster is missing in the first panel.
Thanks, @Vincent, you’re right. Will go back and fix. 🙂
OHO! Murder most deserved, and what a wonderful distraction it is! We’ve completely forgotten the purple doohickey, and haven’t even begun to ponder Napforth’s next moves. Not to mention the escape plan has been pushed aside, and– Hey, what happened to Spizz??
