07/13/26 – Solidly Built

|

Still slumped on the couch, Picknar said, "And it's too solidly built to bust in. I was a miner in Underrock Mountain back when it was just for minerals, and then I worked the tunnels there again when they were building the prison." Smiling, Val said, "Great. You must know some underground passages to get in there." Picknar explained, "Nope. The front is the only way in. We caved in and reinforced all the mine entrances so well that it'd take years to access them again. And mining around the entrances would take about as long. Even breadcrumb bombs, which dig a small hole planting bombs along the way, would take forever because the stone's super hard. It has to be in order to resist the deadly acid that falls continually from the sky." Picknar paused to ponder that possibility, and clarified, "I mean, breadcrumb bombs would work with the front-facing walls which aren't that thick, but getting through the front door isn't the problem." Audri said, "Wait, back up. What was that about deadly acid falling from the sky? Not reassuring!" Picknar said, "Trust me, that's the least of our worries." Audri said, "And that statement's not reassuring either!"

“The chocolate factory did sound like a weird alien prison.”
