Feeling some slight confidence, Val said, “Between Picknar’s mining and Thoos’s visit, plus research, we might be able to map this place out and pull this off.” Excited, Audri said, “Totally! I’ve seen all the heist movies and all the jailbreak movies! And I’ve even forgiven Don Cheadle for his cockney accent! There’s always a way!” Val looked over at a smiling Audri, and then, looking a little deflated, Val said, Okay, I’m second-guessing myself now.” Still excited, Audri pointed at her and said, “First we have to figure out who’ll go in on this with us, what their unique skills are, and figure out how to use their skills in a grand plan! easy-peasy!” Val observed, “Sure. Right. Easy-peasy. Except that we don’t actually have a plan.” Audri said, “Hey! I just laid all the groundwork, I can’t figure out everything!”

*I* have a cunning plan. A plan so cunning, you can put a tail on it and call it a weasel.
The four swappers can convince Thoos’ parents that Thoos and Audri actually did swap, and they’ll get them into the prison or Loomp out of it to swap them back. Of course, the parents will betray everyone afterward, but one thing at a time.
Pretty much what I was going to say. Thoos’s parents have LOTS of money and influence, enough to pay a good lawyer and/or bribe/blackmail the right official to get Loomp out.
Also, just asking Loomp how he did it would not be enough to reverse the process. It almost certainly needs ALL his knowledge, not just what non-scientists can understand, plus the sort of equipment he had in his lab.
My point was that Thoos’ parents are known to already have access to the prison and inmates. It’d be just another day they get to torture someone.
I like this weasel plan, but didn’t they already try to convince Thoos’s parents they’d been switched? And the retainer/securityguard/secretcrush (blanking on name) kept squelching everything?
They DIDN’T convince the parents. The parents are convinced Thoos in Audri’s body is an imposter who kidnapped Thoos and tortured information out of them for a preposterous scam.

Now, now, you do need to know who all’s willing to help you with bout of utter insanity before you work out the plan itself. No point planning if you don’t know who’s gonna participate.
