Pointing to Knox and Rodrigo, Picknar said, “They’re being modest. They totally helped us when we’d just arrived on earth and we had no idea what we were doing. We’re no longer on Earth, so now we simply have no idea what we’re doing.” Thoos said, “Yeah. They did help us get off that miserable rock.” Indignant, Knox said, “Hey, some of us call that miserable rock home.” Thoos said, “True. There is a delusional sentimentality of the people which gives it some charm.” Rodrigo turned to Val and said, “Well, I’m in.” Lasper said sarcastically, “That should be a big help.” Turning to Rodrigo, a little surprised, Knox said, “Really? Okay. Well, me too then.” Knox then said to Val, “I mean, I don’t suppose you’d ask us all to join if you didn’t have a foolproof solid plan we can rely on.” Looking a little sheepish (and not just because she looks a bit like a little sheep), Val said, “Yeah, about that.”
