10/27/14 Unstoppable Plans

2014-10-27_oneway_1jhd2

Had a fun weekend. Went out with friends Friday night. Saturday I perused the farmer’s market before getting a coffee and setting down to write for a couple hours at the library. Later, just before it began raining, I even got some racquetball in. Sunday I went and saw “Dead Poet’s Society” on the big screen, which is such a lovely film. Then I spent a relaxed evening fiddling with reference photos for a new painting and coloring Little Dee pages.

Oh, and Friday, on my way out, I figured out how to form my next comic project together. I found the glue for it so-to-speak. That was exciting.

10/22/14 Lamont Confesses

I need my days to slow down. It has been non-stop and I can’t seem to get caught up on all the extra stuff so I can get caught up on the other stuff. But the residency was mailed off, and the grant application is now ready to go. Almost.

I still ate okay today and played racquetball. Remember that lesson, kids! It’s important to take care of yourself.

And I had some cookies. Because that’s important too.

Spent the weekend doing some fun things. Went for a walk with a friend. Got material to make a Cookie Monster costume for Halloween. Ate cookies. Played racquetball.

I also finished compiling documents for an art residency as well as an art grant — so keep your fingers crossed.

Stweart and I (mostly Stewart) are still puttering at the site. Next is to build individual directories for each comic. some layout stuff. See if we can convince WP to let readers click on the comic to navigate to the next strip. Good stuff. Thank you for your patience.

10/17/14 Star Accuses

Spent some of the day working on a grant proposal, and some on a residency proposal. Worked on a freelance job, and got some coloring done. Still feel out of it. I need toothpicks to prop open my eyelids.

The site is coming together though. Stewart C. Baker (fiction and poetry writer, check him out at Infomancy) has been working hard with the brilliant support of Corey here and there too. Yay!

The current plan is to have the main page show ALL the comics, and then have unique directories for each project. If you have any thoughts of functionality or design you think would be good, don’t hesitate to shout out.

10/03/14 Late Comers

I am nearing the end of my trip and I’m winding down. Feeling tired and brain-soggy and missing my routine diet, my routine exercise, my sweetie, my cats, and my bed.

Which leaves me with no idea what to blog about. 🙂

Today, in Olympia WA I stopped in ONE of the best comic stores I’ve ever been in, Danger Room Comics, where I got to have a lovely conversation with Frank who ranks me as one of his most difficult to please customers EVER. Man-o-man do I remember him always trying to find something both to my taste and that I’d never read. But “The Rabbi’s Cat” and “Isaac The Pirate” I have to credit him with. Rock on, Danger Room.

I’ll be at Rose City Comic Con in Portland, OR this weekend, table #526. Come stop by!

I had a good weekend. I painted (can’t show you because it’s a gift), saw Ralph Nader speak, made a huge pot of soup. A bit quiet (and lonely) with my sweetie away traveling, but it’s a good chance to get ahead on work, and the cats are happy to distract me as much as possible.
